Yongnuo st-e3 rt
Hello dear friends
This post it’s an update for previews one about Canon st-e3 rt knockoff by Yongnuo.
It’s not exactly knockoff, but it’s a kind of 😉 but it’s updated and upgraded version with a few new features.
For me most interesting feature was AF focus assist. So I bought it right away after release from eBay for $155.99 US include free shipping to Canada. BTW the price has jumped to a $245.99 ??!!! from the same eBay supplier.
I placed the order on December 10th, 2013 shipping was 2 weeks, as it’s very reasonable for the shipping from Hong Kong.
Packing was up to the level
 The package was contain :

• YongNuo Speedlite Transmitter YN-E3-RT  x 1
• Manual x 1
• Cables

The good :
1 – external casing has very nice build and fill.
The Bad :
1 – selector dial is very flimsy and there is no way you can compare it to a canon’s original st-e3-rt
2 – The statement “The transmitter also has dust and water resistance equivalent to EOS-1D series cameras” a bit misleading.
As the water resistant rubber in the connection part in between camera hot shoe mount and the transmitter only.

There is no any protection in the battery door slot.

3 – The main problem is that Flash is firing with the delay

4 – and the AF assist pattern as you can see is shifted left and very unusable in Top focusing and Far Right focusing points.
 
Very disappointed and the transmitter is going back to the seller.
